I did this really fun (and slightly nerve-wracking) presentation in Beacon a coupla months ago. Now, I talk about my art a bunch, to lost tourists and groups of students and even bunches of adults who have willingly turned out to hear me do so, but I've never done it with a stopwatch ticking!!
PechaKucha is a super cool thing, started by some architect pals in Tokyo, who wanted to keep up on what they were all doing but not slit their wrists with boredom from listening to their long-winded brethren hold forth:
The simple idea is that the presenter sends in 20 slides and on show night, they are projected for 20 seconds each. No going back. No pausing. No mistakes. No falling behind. 20 seconds each while the presenter explains the slides or expounds on a bigger point. I explained the slides. Wrote a script, timed it, read it. Did ok. But you be the judge of that. Just step away from sharp objects first.
